about
"Time for life (Note to self)" is the first studio-recorded single released as Bolivar.
The song is an encouragement for the listener to enjoy the beauties of life – to take a deep breath and really live while we're still here. It insists that there has got to be possible to fill our lives with the things we actually hold as important, the valuable experiences that fill our days with joy and meaning. You don't need to pay your mindfulness-guru anymore – just put on your headset and let this be your mantra of the summer 2018 – you've got time for life!
lyrics
If I close my eyes and shut my ears,
I may reveal the lies causing me to fear,
causing me to live like I’m always short on time,
and I realize: I’m not really late for life
No, I’ve got time for a smile.
I’ve got time for the treasures my children find outside.
I’ve got time to stand in line,
I’ve got time to wait for a while.
If I look around through my daughter’s eyes,
The grown-ups look like bees, searching for their hives.
Hasting around like crazy, as if the end was near
but when they all have passed, time’s still here.
It didn’t disappear. I’m still here. We’re still here.
And I’ve got time for long goodbyes,
I’ve got time to sing you a hundred lullabies.
I’ve got time to taste the moonlight,
and I’ve got time to kiss the sunshine.
I’ve got time for late-night wine,
I’ve got time for the stories you tell without a punchline.
I’ve got time to make a bonfire,
and to sit here quietly, watching the flames glow in your eyes
I’ve got time to be alive,
I’ve got all the time in the world until I die.
And after that, when this world’s gone,
I’ll have all the time in another one.
